Geo. J. Bone and Sons was established in 1919 by George J Bone and his son Stan on 1.5 acres of land in Maria Street, Edwardstown. Stan had moved to Australia at the age of 21 in 1910 and then convinced his father, mother and the rest of the family to come in 1912.

In 1932 Stan Bone had negotiated to purchase the land we currently trade from for the sum of 500 pounds. This purchase was made during the depression and gives an indication of the foresight of this era.

We currently trade with very similar goals in mind as they did in 1919-providing a quality product to our customers at a fair price. We take great pride in our homes as a family and expect to sell to you and your builder exactly the same material as we would use in ours.

“Bone Timber Industries-a traditional merchant with a progressive outlook and a desire to provide the builder and the handyman with good service and a quality product” LLoyd Bone 1990
